Our practice is registered with both the French and Monegasque Social Security systems (see reimbursement conditions below).

The cost of orthodontic treatment varies according to the malocclusion, the type of appliance and the duration of treatment (from 6 months to 3 years).

Before the age of 16, Social Security may cover part of the cost of orthodontic treatment, provided you obtain prior approval from your health insurance fund. Treatment must begin before the child's 16th birthday. After a consultation with Dr. Perez, you will receive a "Demande d'entente préalable" (request for prior agreement) to send to your health insurance fund. If you do not receive a negative reply within 15 days, your request will be accepted for 6 months, and must be renewed every six months or year.

Reimbursements are made in arrears. If the difference between your fees and the Social Security reimbursement is too great, your complementary health organization may cover all or part of the difference. The compression period (the period during which the results obtained are consolidated) is reimbursed for 2 years, with different reimbursement rates depending on whether it is the 1st or 2nd year of compression treatment.

However, after the age of 16, Social Security no longer covers the cost of orthodontics. However, some mutual insurance companies may cover part of the cost of treatment for patients over the age of 16. In this case, an estimate will be drawn up before treatment begins, so that you can submit it to your mutual insurance company.

If the treatment is "ortho-surgical" (orthodontic treatment requiring surgery by a maxillo-facial surgeon), one half-year of treatment will be reimbursed by Social Security.

À Monaco

If the person is...

Minor

Before the age of 16, it is possible to benefit from partial reimbursement of your orthodontic treatment by Monaco's Social Security Funds, subject to prior agreement. This treatment must be started before the child's 16th birthday, and a request for prior agreement must be sent to your fund's consulting dentist after the assessment appointment with Dr. Perez.

Reimbursement from the Caisse Sociale de Monaco is €455.40 per half-year, regardless of the type of brace or practitioner. The support period is reimbursed for two years. Reimbursements are made in half-yearly instalments and the agreement is valid for six months. The request for prior agreement must be renewed every year or half-year.

If the difference between your fees and the reimbursement by the Caisse Sociale de Monaco is significant, your complementary health insurance may be able to cover all or part of the difference. It is therefore advisable to contact your organization as soon as possible.

In the case of ortho-surgical treatment, one half-year of treatment will be reimbursed by the Monegasque health insurance funds.

After the age of 16, Monaco's Social Security no longer covers orthodontics, but some mutual insurance companies may reimburse part of the treatment. An estimate will be provided before treatment begins, so that you can submit it to your mutual insurance company.
